Meet
Jessica Waterhouse
I previously served on the Board of Education as Vice Chair from 2017 – 2023. While on the Board, I worked on contract negotiations with teachers, administrators, clerical and janitorial unions. I also served on Capital Projects for six years.
For the past twenty-one years, I have worked at CT State Tunxis as a professor in the Criminal Justice Program. I have been the Program Coordinator for the past eighteen years. As Program Coordinator I work with other CT State Criminal Justice Programs to develop curriculum, networking opportunities for students, and assess the program’s outcomes. From 2015-2019 I also served as the Title IX Coordinator and developed informational training for students to understand how to report sexual assault, domestic violence and stalking.
In 2021 I started Mazolu Animal Sanctuary here in South Windsor. This sanctuary takes in animals to give them a forever home. We sometimes adopt out animals but keep most animals here so they can feel secure, healthy and love. We also have volunteers of all ages and are fortune to have many groups come to improve sanctuary habitats. Eagle Scout projects, Girl Scout bronze certificate, Senior capstone projects, Bridging the Year South Windsor Senior Center, and Manchester Learning Center are a few of the groups that have helped in the past year.
